Face mask
The face mask is the intensive treatment that your Skin is asking for: it is applied to the Skin and left on for a certain period of time before being rinsed off or removed. Face masks are generally used to address specific concerns, such as dryness, greasiness, acne, or aging.
What is it for?
Many face masks contain ingredients like clay, charcoal, or AHA (alpha hydroxy acids), which can help absorb excess sebum, minimize pores, and exfoliate dead Skin cells.
Others help provide moisture and nourishment and are formulated with ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, or aloe vera. They can contain active ingredients like vitamin C or retinol, which stimulate collagen production.
Which one to choose
You can choose from several types of masks: wash-off, sheet, peel-off, and night masks.
Each type of mask has a range of benefits and is more suited to specific types of Skin and needs. For example, sheet masks are comfortable and easy to use, and are great for giving your Skin a hydration boost. Peel-off masks are great for exfoliating and brightening the Skin, while night masks are perfect for delivering deep hydration and nourishment during sleep.
How to apply it
Before using a face mask, cleanse your face and remove all traces of makeup. Apply the mask, following the instructions on the packaging, and leave it on for the recommended time. Remove or rinse the mask with warm water and pat your Skin dry with a clean towel. Follow with a toner and moisturizer to seal in the treatment benefits.
Most face masks can be used once or twice a week: make it your weekly treat for yourself and your Skin.
